From Behind the Scenes to the Front of the Room: My First Pitch Experience
As the AI and Advanced Analytics Lead in the Research & Analytics Team at Ketchum in London, I’ve often supported pitch efforts from behind the scenes. Over my time here, I’ve conducted deep-dive research, built robust datasets, and created compelling demos that have helped our team secure numerous wins. However, being in the room for my first pitch was an entirely different – and exhilarating – experience.
Engaging directly with potential clients offered a unique opportunity to bring our work to life in real time. Showcasing the tools we’ve developed live in the room added an authentic and dynamic element to the pitch, allowing me to demonstrate their power and reliability first-hand. Unlike theoretical discussions, live demonstrations highlight what’s possible right now, reinforcing trust and ensuring we’re not making promises we can’t deliver. It was immensely satisfying to address client questions on the spot, tailoring responses to their specific needs, and providing my expert perspective on how our tools could address their challenges.
The energy in the room was palpable. Seeing clients lean in with interest, ask probing questions, and engage with our solutions was a powerful reminder of why we do what we do. The positive reception felt like a validation of all the hard work that had gone into preparing for this moment. It underscored the value of human connection and live interaction in creating memorable experiences and building strong relationships. Walking out of that room, I couldn’t help but feel optimistic about the potential for exciting future collaborations.
