DÜSSELDORF, Feb. 7, 2018 – Leading global communications firm Ketchum today announced that Dr. Sabine Hückmann has been named CEO of Ketchum Germany, effective immediately. She follows Victoria Wagner, partner and current CEO of Ketchum Germany, who is leaving the agency. As CEO of one of the largest consultancies in Germany, Hückmann will guide Ketchum Germany’s strategy for growth, lead Ketchum Germany’s Executive Board and advance the agency’s commitment to client service and talent development. A 20-year veteran of Ketchum, Hückmann’s appointment will ensure a seamless transition for clients and employees. She will report to Mark Hume, partner, chief operating officer and chief financial officer, Ketchum Europe.
“Sabine is highly qualified to serve as our CEO in Germany. Her expertise in leading offices, heading innovation, and understanding digital and analytics is unmatched. She embodies our collaborative spirit and has a passion for advancing careers. Clients appreciate her partnership and extensive expertise, especially in digital transformation,” said Barri Rafferty, partner, president and CEO of Ketchum. “Sabine is known for creating inspired, high-performing teams and is a renowned ambassador of the Ketchum brand in the market and throughout the agency. I look forward to working with her to grow our business in Germany and beyond.”
Hückmann, a global Ketchum partner and managing director in Germany, has more than 25 years of communications consulting experience. She has been the head of Ketchum’s office in Stuttgart for 20 years and added responsibility for Frankfurt in 2017. She is responsible for leading significant growth for those offices in the last year. Sabine most recently served as chief innovation officer within the Executive Board, shaping the agency’s position in the market, and she has played an integral role in bringing in new business, including Bosch and EnBW. She also leads the agency’s research and analytics division in Germany. Previously, Hückmann was the office lead at Brodeur Kohtes & Klewes GmbH.
“I am grateful for the opportunity to expand my role within Ketchum. As a Ketchum team in Germany we have accomplished a great deal and will continue along this path. Working even more closely with Barri and Mark, I want to foster a borderless agency approach, with a laser focus on innovative, data-driven strategies that answer the questions of our industry’s future,” said Hückmann. “I am also grateful to be surrounded by such a smart and dedicated team. I work with the best talent in the market who are primed to master any challenge a client brings our way.”
